Workers of Ankur Udyog Ltd., a factory in the Bargadwa industrial area in Gorakhpur, eastern UP were attacked by goons called by the factory owner this morning (3 May). At least seven workers have been seriously injured in firing by the goons.

Charge sheets filed against two sons of former CM in disproportionate assets case

New Delhi, Dec 25: The CBI registered a case against a former Chief Minister, Haryana his family members and others for the allegations of amassing huge immovable and movable assets disproportionate to his known and lawful sources of income in his name, in the names of his family members and others, while functioning as Chief Minister, from July 24, 1999 to March 5, 2005. During investigation, searches were conducted at twenty four places in the case and a large number of incriminating documents were also recovered.

On completion of investigation, CBI today filed charge sheets in the Court of Special Judge CBI Karkardooma, New Delhi separately against the sons of the former Chief Minister of Haryana. A charge sheet has been filed against one of the accused (son of Ex CM) for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs 27,74,74,260 i.e. 339 per cent of his Income of Rs 8,17,85,805 during the check period 1993 to 2006. He has been found in possession of immovable and movable assets worth Rs 28,76,16,611 in addition to the expenditure incurred by him for Rs. 7,39,58,015 during the check period.

The second accused (son of Ex CM) has also been charge sheeted for possession of assets disproportionate to his known sources of income to the tune of Rs. 119,69,82,619 i.e. 522 per cent of his Income of Rs. 22,89,59,008 during the check period 2000 to 2005. He has been found in possession of immovable and movable assets worth Rs 140,25,27,144 in addition to the expenditure incurred by him for Rs 2,72,86,515 during the check period.

CBI Report is being sent to the Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha for obtaining permission for prosecution against the former CM. Charge sheet will be filed against the former CM for possession of disproportionate assets on receipt of the requisite permission from the Speaker, Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
